New Semester Begins!
Spring semester is almost upon us. We, at Tennessee, begin classes on Wednesday. We have five sections of the technology course rolling this semester with 20 students in each section.
We have made some updates to our materials to clarify information. Further, we have broken the information in some chapters into parts to make it easier to discuss in classes. You will find that chapter 1, 5, 7, and 11 have multiple parts to ease the burden of information overload.
We will be showcasing some of the work of our pre-service teachers throughout the semester. Let us know if we can assist you.

Welcome to the Preparing to Use Technology Blog
Hello everyone. Welcome to the Preparing to Use Technology Blog. I decided that blogs provided a perfect way to keep in touch with our readers and tell you interesting things that are happening in our classes at the University of Tennessee.
Our latest venture is the development of podcasts for each chapter. I am working with two of our doc students who have taught the class and done a wonderful job. While it has been a very time consuming project, I think that the outcomes will outweigh the time spent. We intend on completing research using these next semester to see if the podcasts can replace lecture in this class. Our students get very restless during lecture and this seemed a perfect answer. The podcasts will be offered to our students through iTunesU. I am checking with Allyn and Bacon to see if you will be able to access from there as well. As soon as I get the permission and we get these finished, you will have access to them for your classes too. I'll advise where you can get this access after it is decided.
